Indian Railways has introduced the UMID Smart Health Card System for Railway Employees to contribute to the provision of a unique identity to all medical beneficiaries individually by a Unique Number as a Permanent entity.

This Unique Medical Identity is further strengthened by the unique smart feature of web-enabled QR code and Biometric identity with the shared database at all India levels, and this online and mobile application assists in verifying medical beneficiaries across all health departments spanning all Indian Railways.

UMID Login

UMID is a Unique Medical Identity Card issued by Indian Railways to their Employees & Pensioners. The System is designed to overcome medical and health checkup limitations, with an Automatic System Based Identity with a systematic Solution.

Employees/Employers/Pensioners will get up to 1 Crore worth of health beneficiaries through Indian Railway UMID and it’s the biggest HR database with lays the strong foundation for an Integrated Hospital Management Information system (HMIS) like HRMS Railway.

UMID Registration Process at https://umid.digitalir.in/

The India Railways UMID registration process is very simple. When you visit the official website of UMID, you will find instructions on how to fill out the form. You must upload all essential documentation, as well as your proper contact information.

The below steps help you register for the Indian Railways Unique Medical Identity Card in a simple manner.

  1. Visit the Digital Indian Railways – User Management System UMID Portal at https://umid.digitalir.in/
  2. On the home page of the portal proceed with ‘Register Here’ and then choose “Employee/Pensioner.”
  3. Select the User Type or Select the Type of Pension Plan
  4. Fill out the three validation fields that will appear:
    • PF Number.
    • Date of Birth.
    • PAN Number (10 digits).
  5. Click the “Validate Detail” button.
  6. If the information is valid, click on ‘Conformation.’
  7. If everything is okay, proceed to the following step to register your mobile number.
  8. If the details match, the employee registers Mobile Number for OTP (ONE TIME Password) and Validates the OTP.
  9. Set the password and enter a secure ‘Password‘ and click ‘Register‘.

UMID Card Login

The Digital Indian Railways (UMS) User Management System was designed with a very easy UI, every registered Railway Employee/Pensioners/Family Pensioners can log in to manage their Unique Medical Identity Card Account in simple steps.

  1. Open the Digital IR UMID Portal at https://umid.digitalir.in/web/.
  2. Click on the login button, and enter Employee PF No/ Pensioner PPO No.
  3. Now Enter the Password and Validate the captcha Code.
  4. Click on Login.
  5. Now you have reached into your UMID Dashboard of your account successfully.

Indian Railway UMID’s Application Process

  1. Log in to Indian Railway IR Portal at https://umid.digitalir.in/ using User ID (PF No) & Password
  2. Go to the main menu and proceed with the “Initiate Application” button – It is available in 2 stages such as.
    • Self Form.
    • Add Family Members.
  3. Proceed with “Self Form” and enter the 6 fields viz.
    • Gender, Blood group, Aadhar Number, Address, Hospital Opted, E-mail.
  4. After entering the above details, enter the declaration option if there are no eligible dependents.
  5. Click Validate button details saved & proceed to upload the documents
  6. Select the files for uploading.
    • Three main docs i.e. photograph scanned signature and old medical card.
      • if a medical card is not available then the pass/PTO declaration form is duly countersigned by the supervisor.
  7. Provision is there for uploading any additional documents.
  8. To confirm the completion of uploading of documents click update documents button

UMID Status Check

  1. Open the Indian Railways IR Portal UMID at https://umid.digitalir.in/web/.
  2. Login into your account as an employee or pensioner by employee/pensioner account.
  3. Go to the menu bar & click on My Application Status.
  4. Now it will show the Current Status of the Application submitted by you.
  5. It will show completed, if the application status is completed otherwise it shows pending.

UMID Card Download

  1. Log- into the Indian Railways IR UMID Portal as an employee.
  2. Go to the menu sidebar and Click on View/Download Medical Cards.
  3. All the medical cards are displayed therein.
  4. Download the Indian Railway Unique Medical Identity UMID Card as a Pdf file.
    • Now you can save on a mobile or print on paper/card or print only a QR code.

How to Download Medical Cards (PENSIONER)

  1. Log in as PENSIONER and Click on VIEW/DOWNLOAD MEDICAL CARDS
  2. All the medical cards of the eligible family members including PENSIONER will be displayed on the dashboard.
  3. They can be saved on Mobile (or) Print on Paper/Card (or) Print only the QR Code.
  4. Any of the mechanisms will help the PENSIONER/Dependent to show them at the Hospital counter or Kiosk for OPD slip generation.

How to Recover UMID Login Password by FORGOT PASSWORD Procedure

  1. Go to the LOG-IN page of UMID.
  2. Click on FORGOT PASSWORD (at the bottom of the log-in box.).
  3. Select TYPE OF USER as PENSIONER.
  4. Enter VALIDATION Particulars by:
    • PPO Number.
    • Date of Birth.
    • Date of Cessation.
    • Click on VALIDATE Button.
  5. Display of NAME & MOBILE Number for confirmation.
  6. Enter OTP and VERIFY.
  7. Set NEW PASSWORD and confirm by clicking on RESET.
  8. Now the PENSIONER can log in with new credentials.
