AP Education Department announced positive news for teacher job (AP DSC 2024) candidates regarding the management of ‘TET’ in Andhra Pradesh.
It has come to our attention that the AP Education Department is preparing to release the AP DSC 2024 notification. Minister Botsa Satyanarayana has made several important announcements regarding this matter.
The government is planning to conduct the AP exam for DSC 2024 before the upcoming elections. Also, an update has been released regarding the TET exam. The Education department is planning to conduct the TET exam before DSC. It is speculated that the AP TET Notification 2024 is likely to be released soon.
The TET exam was conducted by the AP Education Department in 2022, but no DSC notification has been released since then. However, many students are hopeful that the exam will be conducted soon, especially with the important DSC announcement looming.
This is particularly true for those who completed their D.E.D. and B.E.D. in 2022 and 2023. Additionally, previously unqualified candidates also want to take the TET exam to have a chance at AP DSC 2024.
The authorities are currently focusing on organizing the exam to give all these candidates a fair chance. If the TET exam is indeed held, it is estimated that more than 5 lakh people will be able to take it.
AP TET 2024 New Rules and Changes
The Andhra Pradesh government has recently issued new orders regarding the eligibility criteria for candidates who wish to take the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). Several of the previous rules have been modified.
As per the new guidelines, those who have completed a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.E.L.E.D) or a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.E.L.E.D) are now eligible to take the TET paper 1 . TET paper 1 is conducted for secondary grade teachers who teach classes from 1st to 5th.
Additionally, candidates writing Paper 1 should have secured 50% marks in Intermediate. Previously, SC, ST, BC and Divyangs had to score 50% marks in their degree to write TET Paper-2A.
However, the eligibility criteria have now been revised, and the minimum percentage required for these categories has been reduced to 40 percent. These decisions will be applicable to the upcoming TET notification.
The National Council of Teacher Education has recently announced that individuals who have completed their B.Ed. degree in the past will now be considered eligible for SGT positions. This means that in many states, individuals with a B.Ed. degree are also eligible to apply for SGT positions.
However, last year the Supreme Court invalidated this notification, which made those with a B.Ed. degree ineligible to apply for SGT positions. In light of this, the AP government has issued an amendment order to rectify the situation.
Reports suggest that the Andhra Pradesh District Selection Committee (AP DSC) is planning to release a notification soon to fill around 6,000 to 10,000 teacher positions. It seems that most of these vacancies will be for Secondary Grade Teachers (SGT).
The officials are currently gathering district-wise vacancy details. However, during the last assembly sessions, the government announced that there are approximately 18,500 vacancies in the education department.
