The Andhra Pradesh government has announced that it will release the AP DSC 2024 notification soon, and a decision regarding the same is expected to be taken in today’s cabinet meeting.
The Andhra Pradesh School Education Department has proposed to fill 6000 teaching positions in DSC, which includes teachers, TET, and DSC. The approval for filling these positions will be granted in the cabinet meeting scheduled for January 31.
The exam schedule for conducting the exams will be announced later, and it is likely that the DSC exam will take place after the TET exam. TET marks will have a weightage of 20% in DSC. Both TET and DSC exams will be conducted via a computer-based examination format.
The Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (AP TET) consists of two papers – Paper-1 for Secondary Grade Teachers (SGT) and Paper-2 for School Assistants. To be eligible for SGT posts, candidates must have completed D.Ed. or a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education program.
In order to write the TET, OC candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in intermediate, while SC, ST, BC, and Divyang candidates need to have scored a minimum of 45% marks. For school assistants, the government has fixed the qualifying marks at 40% in the degree for SC, ST, BC, and disabled candidates. It’s important to note that candidates are only given one opportunity to take the test.
In 2018, the previous government conducted the District Selection Committee (DSC) for the last time. A total of 7,902 posts were notified, and 6.08 lakh applications were received. Previously, individuals who completed their Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) were eligible for the Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT) posts, and DSC and Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) were conducted for these posts with a total of 100 marks.
The screening test for Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) was conducted in English medium. However, this time, the state government plans to conduct TET and DSC separately.
